random thoughts

today, while thinking about my tok first essay, I started thinking about beauty, colours, the taste of the food and all those things we can think about and do them so easilly and concluded that without our mind and our way of perceaving things and perceaving the world it would be impossible to give an opinion about anything, it would be like we were blind. for.e.g: we wouldn't be able to understand the difference between colours, between flavours or even between faces.

We first discussed this title, but then started talking about sexism

Does colour exist?

In today's lesson we talked about colour. By watching a video , we came to the conclusion that our brain makes up colours, therefore, colours doesn't exist. For example, in the video, they did several experiments, and one of those consisted on going to a tribe and ask them to distinguish between two simple colous, and because they didn't know the colours, they assumed they where the same.

"If I discovered that my daughter was a robot, should I treat her differently?"

What makes us human?
Can a machine have a mind?
What is mind?
Are we all robots?
Can a machine love?
Can you bee evil to a machine?
This were questions asked in class while discussing the title above. In my opinion, if there are feelings present, you don't have to treat it differently.

Beauty

In todays lesson, we discussed what beauty is. and we came to the conclusion that beauty is something subjective, it depends on people's points of view, on the other hand, the hight of people's is something objective.

The senses

What's the taste of sugar?
Describe the color green.
In todays' lesson whe reached to the conclusion that our senses fail , and that we can't describe the tastes of food withoud using other food. And we cant describe colors without using other colors.

Perception

What is perception?
Can we know without senses?
Does our eye act like a TV camera?
This questions were discussed in class, and we came to a conclusion that we can' know anything without senses and out eye doesn't act like a TV camera, because we only watch things we want to. If we are focused on something, and something strange happens, we are likely to don't notice it , because we are not always seeing all the things around us. However, our senses might be wrong, therefore, everything we know trought senses might be wrong.
